May 2nd - Weaving Words - A Veiled Crow Event

May our words breathe and weave...

May the threads and tendrils of myth sneak their way into our storied souls
And may Imagination ignite our hearts and illuminate the winding paths and crooked cracks...
Onward and upward and downward and inward seeking sanctuary and sublime uncertainty...

journeying together in some transformative collective curiosity...
Writers, Seekers, Poets, Listeners, Storytellers, Others! This is an invitation to gather and
share words, ideas, poetry, musings, tales of old—longing to be tended, unfettered, and
threaded into new; anything to do with story and the tell. Weaving Words takes place
approximately every other month. Each gathering will stem from a theme sparked by the
seasons/the muses/the unseen forces guiding our wayward wanderings/the essence and
aliveness of the stories themselves (and/or some beautifully messy amalgamation thereof). In
reverence to the tricky shifting nature of the story and how we might be storied, we invite
fluid interpretations on the theme and prompts for each session.

MAY 2, 2026: BALLADS

I THOUGHT IT WAS MAY THE FOURTH...BUT IT’S NOT...AND THEN... THE EAGLES
CAME TO ME SWIFTLY AND SHRIEKED...BALLADS...LOVE BALLADS...MURDER
BALLADS...BALLADS COME ONE, COME ALL

I was standing
All alone against the world outside
You were searching
For a place to hide
Lost and lonely
Now you've given me the will to survive
When we're hungry
Love will keep us alive
Don't you worry
Sometimes you've just gotta let it ride
The world is changing
Right before your eyes
Now I've found you
There's no more emptiness inside
When we're hungry

If you plan to share work, please limit it to ~6 minutes to start. Coming to listen?  On the fence whilst holding potential words within? –all of that is most welcome!  There will be time allotted in our ‘fire’ for flow and impromptu offerings of words, reflection, seeds of story… should anything bubble up!
